While colouring this strip I came to the sudden realization that the relevancy of the flat brimmed hat trend may render this strip a bit less timeless than I would normally want. I originally drafted this strip up in pencil in 2016, having written the idea down a year or two prior. It only took me until 2018 to finally commit it all to ink. The irony is not lost on me that by now this fashion trend is probably on its way out. I really don’t know, as I tend to be on the latter end of the adoption curve regarding fashion.

So it should be no surprise that this strip is semi-autobiographical. And in hindsight, perhaps I should have really used a straight edge to draw that brim to illustrate the idea better. Oh well, live and learn.
